Canoe Kayak Nova Scotia, the Town of Bridgewater, Cape LaHave Adventures and the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg invite you to participate in the 2026 Pijinuiskaq Paddle Fest!

• • Saturday Sept 19:
    • Cape LaHave Islands Guided Paddle with Cape LaHave Adventures (Fee)
    • Big Canoe Paddles will take place in Bridgewater from Pijinuiskaq Park, 2pm – 4pm during the Harvest Moon Music Festival (FREE!)
  • Sunday Sept 20:
    • 3rd Annual Paddle Pijinuiskaq Group Paddle event starting from Shipyards Landing, in Bridgewater along the LaHave ‘through town’ and continuing to Miller Point Peace Park – FREE

This event honours our connection to the LaHave River, a waterway that has been used as a highway, as a food source, and recreational activities for generations. Pijinuiskaq (pronounced BE-JN-OO-IS-GAH) is the traditional Mi’kmaw name for the LaHave River, meaning “having long joints or branches”.
