Music is filling the air in Bridgewater with Music on the Riverbank!
Music on the Riverbank is back for it’s 10th year anniversary season, bringing the sounds of summer to the lower deck of Pijinuiskaq Park every Thursday evening at 6:30PM!
Set against the backdrop of the beautiful LaHave River, this beloved concert series invites locals and visitors alike to relax and unwind and get swept away by the music.
Whether you’re finishing up your workday, wanting to kick off your weekend, or simply looking to brighten up your evening, Thursday nights at Pijinuiskaq Park will be sure to offer a good time. With its central location off of King Street, it is easy to stop by one of our many restaurants and grab dinner to go – date night has never been so easy!
Make sure to bring your dancing shoes as the energy and tunes may cause you to get up and join in on the party! And with accessible entrances by ramp, everyone can enjoy the sweet melodies.
This season’s line up showcases a vibrant blend of music across cultures and generations, highlighting the depth of talent within Nova Scotia’s South Shore and beyond. Bring a chair, a friend, and make a new tradition of visiting Pijinuiskaq Park on Thursdays for Music on the Riverbank!
June 18 – Patricia Watson
Kicking off the season is Patricia Watson, winner of the African Nova Scotia Music Association’s Rising Star Award. Blending smooth jazz with a gospel touch, Patricia has performed across Canada and the U.S., captivating audiences with her soulful voice and heartfelt performances.
June 25 – Mo & the Boys
Singer-songwriter Mo Gave brings a rich mix of blues, folk, rock, and country, backed by seasoned musicians Mike Mackinnon and Stewart Franck. Expect original songs that evoke every-day life experiences, and well-loved classics.
July 2 – Foggy Deeds
Known for their “Pint Swinging Tunes,” Foggy Deeds brings traditional Celtic melodies and East Coast classics alive with their 6-piece band. Come get swept away by sweet vocal harmonies and foot-tapping good times!
July 9 – T3KILLAH (Tevin Standing Brownbear)
An Indigenous hip-hop artist from Cape Breton, T3KILLAH blends modern beats with personal storytelling for a raw and powerful performances.
July 16 – Jackie Putnam Jackie Putnam is an award-winning, country-pop sensation, and has earned accolades for her powerful vocals and inspiring storytelling while performing extensively throughout Canada and abroad – delivering unforgettable performances. She is one powerhouse of an entertainer, singer, and songwriter. She’s a little bit of country and a little bit of rock n’ roll.
July 23 – Amber Malone
Amber’s sound flows from pop and folk to punk and rock; Amber is rooted in Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Her songs carry warmth, truth, and wonder—music that speaks to life’s ups and downs and seeks to draw people closer together.
July 30 – Tharangam Lunenburg (Chenda Melam)
Experience something truly unique with this traditional Kerala percussion ensemble, the first mixed Chenda Melam group in Atlantic Canada.
Aug 6 – Courtney Clark & Dillon Winter A Nova Scotia based duo performing originals and acoustic covers of fan favourites with everything from Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” to Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”. Enjoy their sweet vocals accompanied by guitar and piano.
Aug 13 – Julia Tynes African Nova Scotian Artist Julia Tynes performs honest and playful songs rooted in Scotian Soul. Known for her soulful vocals and high energy performances, this pop-soul artist fills the stage with colour, flair, and fun.
Aug 20 – Kim Elizabeth Doolittle Playing a blend of classics, folk, and blues, Kim Doolittle likes to sweep listeners away with her storytelling and tries to connect with her audience through singing about her own life experiences. Blending humour with connection during her shows, Kim is sure to entertain.
Aug 27 – The Wedbetters 5-piece band of Junior High Students local to the South Shore. Playing 1970’s through modern era rock, classic rock, and grunge rock. With shared vocals, two guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards, The Wedbetters have played several public events and are looking forward to rocking out on August 27th.
Sept 3 – Jessica Russell Two-time Josie Music Awards nominee Jessica Russell is a rising star in Canada’s country music scene, known for her heartfelt lyrics, engaging stage presence, and a voice rooted in authenticity. Hailing from Nova Scotia, her passion for music and storytelling has taken her coast to coast.
Sept 10 – Light and Shade Ryan Langille and Scott Leonard are the dynamic duo of Light and Shade. Performing the best of classic rock from Led Zepplin to AC/DC, and everything in between. And with over 100 songs in their repertoire, they bring new life to the classics with vocal harmonies and complex guitar arrangements.
Sept 17 – Collage Collage is a South Shore Based vocal group assembled in 2005 under the name Sweet Harmony. The group has a large repertoire of Maritime and East Coast Music, along with many folk, jazz, “roots” and popular numbers that are international in nature.
This 14-week showcase, hosted by the Town of Bridgewater, is proudly presented by South Shore Centre who will also serve as the rain location. Back again as a partner for another year is CKBW / Country 100.7/ YourSouthShore.ca .
